More affordable variant of the One e-scooter offers 151 km range, bookings open in January

Recently homegrown electric vehicle manufacturer Simple Energy launched an affordable variant of its maiden electric scooter, the One. Named as the ‘Dot One’ it was initially made available for the pre-booked customers of the One, here we bring you five things that you should know about the new variant:-

  1. Price hike: Initially offered for Rs. 1 lakh to pre-booked One customers, the Dot One now starts at Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom) for everyone.
  2. New booking dates: Existing One customers wanting to switch can book from January 1st, 2024, while new bookings open on January 27th, 2024, with a Rs. 1,947 token amount.
  3. Fixed battery: Unlike the One’s dual battery setup, the Dot One has a single fixed battery, resulting in a lower range of 151 km per charge compared to the One’s 212 km.
  4. Unchanged features: Design, performance (8.5 kW motor, 72 Nm torque, 0-40 kmph in 2.7 seconds), and features like CBS brakes, touchscreen display, navigation, Bluetooth, and OTA updates remain the same as the One.
  5. Color options: Four standard colors plus introductory LightX and BrazenX options are available.
