Choice International Subsidiary Wins Solar Power Project in Jodhpur, India

Joint venture with Solar91 to develop 34.72 MW plant aligned with PM-Kusum Yojana

Choice Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd (Choice), a subsidiary of Choice International Ltd, announced that it has secured a project for the development of a solar power plant for Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (Jodhpur Discom) in a joint venture partnership with Solar91 Cleantech Pvt Ltd.

The project will see Choice and Solar91 act as key advisors, overseeing various aspects of the solar plant’s development. This includes conducting detailed site surveys, supervising the design, supply, and installation process, and managing the construction of control rooms. Additionally, the venture will oversee the installation of associated power lines and ensure proper testing and commissioning of the entire plant.

The project represents a significant investment, with a capital expenditure (capex) outlay of Rs. 152 crores. It also underscores Jodhpur Discom’s commitment to clean energy and rural electrification, marking a crucial step towards a more sustainable future for the region.

Aligned with the Government of India’s PM-Kusum Yojana — Component C 2 initiative, the project aims to provide affordable electricity to farmers. The joint venture will establish a 34.72 MW (AC) solar power plant within a 12-month timeframe, followed by a 25-year operation and maintenance period.
