Trina Solar and PetroGreen Partner to Accelerate Solar Energy Adoption in the Philippines

Leading solar provider Trina Solar joins forces with PetroGreen to boost renewable energy projects in the Philippines, aiming for a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Trina Solar and PetroGreen have forged a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the adoption of solar energy in the Philippines.

Through a master sales agreement, Trina Solar will supply 117 megawatts of high-performance photovoltaic solar modules for various projects led by PetroGreen’s subsidiary, Rizal Green Energy Corporation.

This collaboration aligns with the Philippine government’s goal of reaching 35% renewable energy by 2030. Previous successful projects, like the Dagohoy solar PV project in Bohol, set the stage for this expanded partnership.

The new agreement will see Trina Solar providing modules for projects in San Jose municipality, Nueva Ecija, and other provinces, totaling over 129,000 modules and generating an estimated 129.14 gigawatt-hours of clean energy annually.

Both companies express openness to future collaboration in solar tracker systems and battery energy storage systems, highlighting a commitment to innovation and comprehensive renewable energy solutions.

This partnership contributes to the Philippines’ ambitious climate goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 75% by 2030 and achieving 20 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2040.
