M3M Foundation spearheads initiative using the Miyawaki method, reinforcing commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
In celebration of World Environment Day, a tree plantation program was held at the Anaj Mandi in Tauru, organized by the M3M Foundation. The event saw a commitment to plant 10,000 trees using the Miyawaki method, an initiative aimed at fostering rapid forest growth. The ceremony was graced by the presence of SDM Mr. Sanjeev Kumar and DSP Mr. Mukesh Kumar, among other dignitaries.
The chief guest, Mrs. Abha Bansal, a prominent social worker and patron of M3M Foundation, reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to environmental conservation. “Since the inception of the M3M Foundation and the Sarvodaya program, environmental protection has been our main priority. We will continue to do whatever possible for the development of Tauru,” she stated.
Following the event at Anaj Mandi, Mrs. Bansal visited the village of Charoda, where she participated in tree planting activities alongside school teachers and community members. The event also saw the involvement of the school principal, other teachers, the village Sarpanch, Anganwadi workers, ANM, and local villagers.
Dr. Aishwarya Mahajan, President of M3M Foundation, highlighted the importance of this year’s World Environment Day theme, “Solution to Plastic Pollution.” He emphasized the need for collective efforts to achieve a plastic-free environment, noting, “Tree plantation is only the beginning; we have to move towards sustainable development in a holistic manner.”
To date, M3M Foundation has planted over 350,000 trees across India, with 150,000 of these in Tauru, achieving a survival rate of more than 85%. In addition, the foundation is actively engaged in the revitalization of six water bodies in Tauru, with plans to extend this work to additional water bodies soon.
This tree plantation drive underscores M3M Foundation’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community development, setting a robust example for ecological conservation efforts nationwide.
