Collaborating with over 600 organizations, Climate Corps fellows have saved INR 14,000 crore in energy and reduced 2.2 million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, advancing sustainability in critical sectors.
Climate Corps fellows have collaborated with over 600 organizations on 1500 projects worldwide, including partnerships with 40% of Fortune 100 companies. Their efforts have resulted in managing approximately INR 14,000 crore in energy savings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2.2 million metric tons.
In India, Climate Corps fellows tackle emissions reductions and promote sustainability goals in high-emitting underserved sectors, including Freight & Logistics, Food & Agriculture, and Industrial Manufacturing.
Pramath Raj Sinha, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Founder at Ashoka University, emphasized the importance of the partnership with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) for the Climate Corps Fellowship programme. He stated, “This partnership will help prepare the next generation of sustainability leaders for the complex challenges posed by climate change globally. The programme will equip the fellows with the awareness, skills, and resources to drive climate action in India. We are hopeful that this programme will make a lasting impact.”
