TP Solar Limited (TP Solar), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has entered into a significant agreement with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) to deliver 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0. Valued at approximately ₹455 crore, this partnership emphasizes TP Solar’s standing as a reliable supplier of premium solar modules in India.
The modules, certified under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), will be distributed across various locations in Maharashtra this year. This contract forms part of MSPGCL’s broader 750 MWp tender, finalized through a competitive e-Reverse Auction (eRA) process.
Industry-Leading Manufacturing Facility
TP Solar operates India’s largest single-location solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. With a robust production capacity of 4.3 GW each for cells and modules, the plant is equipped with cutting-edge TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies. This state-of-the-art facility has been strategically designed with expansion capabilities, showcasing Tata Power’s commitment to fostering indigenization in the solar value chain.
Tata Power has invested nearly ₹4,300 crore to establish this facility, marking a pivotal step toward achieving self-sufficiency in solar cell and module manufacturing. The plant produces both ALMM-certified and domestically required content (DCR) modules, furthering India’s vision for local manufacturing and a Net-Zero carbon future.
