DDA to Host First-Ever Green Expo 2026 at Baansera Park, Focus on Climate-Resilient Cities

First-of-its-kind national platform to bring global experts, policymakers and innovators together to advance sustainable, nature-based solutions for Indian cities

Building on the successful rejuvenation of the Yamuna floodplains through public green spaces such as Asita, Baansera, Vasudev Ghat and Yamuna Vatika, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will host the first-ever DDA Green Expo 2026 on February 14–15, 2026, at Baansera Park, New Delhi.

Guided by the vision of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, the two-day national-level Expo will focus on sustainability, urban greening and nature-based solutions, positioning itself as a flagship platform to reimagine the future of Indian cities. The event aims to highlight DDA’s growing emphasis on integrating a climate-first approach into urban planning and development.

Envisioned as a benchmark-setting initiative aligned with global best practices, the DDA Green Expo 2026 will bring together international experts, policymakers, urban planners, industry leaders, academia and students to deliberate on building climate-resilient, future-ready cities. The Expo will showcase scalable and replicable solutions for cities grappling with climate change, water stress and environmental degradation.

The Expo will feature exhibitions, live demonstrations and expert-led sessions highlighting innovations in green infrastructure, landscape restoration and sustainable urban ecosystems. In addition to knowledge-sharing, the platform will facilitate policy dialogues, cross-sector collaborations and partnerships, with several MoUs expected to be signed to support long-term, climate-responsive urban development.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and Chairman, DDA, said cities must move beyond conventional growth models and place sustainability and citizen well-being at the core of development. He emphasised the need to embed native landscaping, water- and waste-sensitive planning, and nature-based solutions into every aspect of urban growth, adding that the Expo would help advance collective action towards cleaner and greener cities.

N. Saravana Kumar, Vice-Chairman, DDA, said the Green Expo reflects the Authority’s evolving approach to urban development. He noted that the platform is designed to be practical and solutions-driven, accelerating the adoption of climate-responsive practices through partnerships, innovation and citizen participation.

As the statutory planning and land-owning authority of the national capital, the Delhi Development Authority plays a pivotal role in shaping Delhi’s urban and environmental future. With its scale, diversity of participation and strong focus on actionable solutions, the DDA Green Expo 2026 is set to emerge as a key milestone in advancing environmentally responsible, people-centric and sustainable urban development in Delhi.
