India is making strides towards achieving its goal of 8 million tons of green hydrogen capacity by 2030, according to Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy R.K. Singh.
Multiple pilot projects have been initiated, including a 5 Nm3/h Green Hydrogen production project based on solar energy and electrolysis in Gurugram and a 6 kg per hour green hydrogen production project based on biomass gasification in IISc Bangalore.
The National Green Hydrogen Mission, approved earlier this year, aims to establish a green hydrogen ecosystem and make it affordable and accessible.
Other pilot projects include a green ammonia project in Rajasthan and India’s first green hydrogen blending project in Gujarat. None of the pilot projects received subsidies from the Indian government.
