BYD Launches Landmark Everest Cleanup Initiative with Airlift Technology

In a bold step toward sustainability, BYD’s Cimex Charity Foundation partners with Airlift Technology to remove one ton of waste from Mount Everest, using drone innovation to protect the Himalayan ecosystem.

In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at tackling the growing environmental crisis on Mount Everest, the Cimex BYD Charity Foundation (CBCF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airlift Technology to launch a high-impact waste cleanup mission on the world’s highest peak.

Every year, Everest sees an influx of climbers, and with them comes a trail of waste—ranging from plastic to hazardous materials—that threatens the delicate Himalayan ecosystem. This new collaboration is a significant step toward reversing that damage.

Aligned with BYD’s global commitment to “Cool the Earth by 1°C,” the partnership will focus on removing at least one ton of waste from the Everest region during the limited April–May climbing season. By integrating Airlift Technology’s advanced drone systems, the cleanup initiative promises smarter, safer, and more efficient operations in one of the most challenging environments on Earth.

This pioneering effort not only aims to preserve the sanctity of the Himalayas but also sets a precedent for sustainable high-altitude expeditions worldwide.
