MP Discom highlights long-term benefits, cost recovery within 3-4 years, and environmental advantages
In a renewed effort to promote sustainable energy practices and reduce electricity expenses, the district administration of Bhopal has once again appealed to the public to consider installing solar panels. The move comes as part of a broader initiative to encourage renewable energy adoption and mitigate the impact of rising power costs.
Quoting a press note from MP Discom, the district administration emphasized the numerous advantages of solar panels, including their long lifespan. The statement mentioned that once installed, a solar panel can continuously generate power for up to 25 years. Notably, the expenses incurred in the installation of solar panels can be recovered within a span of 3 to 4 years, making subsequent power generation for the following 20 years essentially free.
MP Discom further highlighted the positive environmental impact of solar energy adoption. By embracing solar power, individuals can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner environment. The district administration encourages residents to seize this opportunity to both save money and actively participate in preserving the planet.
To facilitate the installation process, MP Discom has announced that the union government offers substantial subsidies for solar panel adoption. For solar panels with a capacity of up to 3 KV, the government provides a 40% subsidy, while capacities beyond 3 KV up to 10 KV are eligible for a 20% subsidy. Additionally, group housing societies can avail a 20% subsidy for installing a solar panel of up to 500 KV, at a rate of 10 KV per house.
To ensure a smooth and authorized installation process, interested individuals can reach out to approved vendors of MP Discom. Prior registration through the Sandesh app, available at the national portal of the union government (www.solarrooftop.gov.in), is mandatory.
