In a momentous development unveiled during the G20 Leaders’ event on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment, India has joined forces with key global players, including the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union, to introduce the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
This ambitious endeavor promises to reshape economic landscapes and foster unprecedented collaboration. In response to this pivotal partnership, the India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) sharing their thoughts said we welcome the G20 Delhi Declaration statement on developing High Level Voluntary Principles on Hydrogen and the proposed India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) as a mega infrastructure and connectivity initiative project with the ambition to build a trans-regional hydrogen pipeline in the future.
It recognizes the importance of hydrogen infrastructure and critical partnerships between different economic regions to build a global green hydrogen market. A trans-regional green hydrogen pipeline, if built, can be the infrastructure backbone connecting multiple green hydrogen hubs across India, Middle East and Europe.
