Collaboration Aims to Promote Healthy Soils and Raise Global Awareness”
Heartfulness Institute and Bioversity, a part of the Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT, have forged a significant partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of the Executive Secretariat of the ‘4 Per 1000’ Initiative. The primary aim of this MoU is to bolster collaboration between ‘4 PER 1000’ and Heartfulness, focusing on several crucial objectives.
Firstly, the partnership aims to advocate for the promotion of healthy soils as a solution to address climate change and food security challenges. This initiative recognizes that healthy soils are fundamental to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and seeks to persuade the 3 Rio Conventions to prioritize this vital issue.
Additionally, the partnership between Heartfulness Institute and ‘4 PER 1000’ intends to raise public awareness about the significance of healthy soils. They aim to highlight that soils serve as the bedrock of life, underpinning sustainable food systems, food security, livelihoods, and economic development. Furthermore, the partnership seeks to inform and sensitize policymakers about the imperative need to safeguard soils.
Rev. Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission, expressed the urgency of soil health and the importance of collective action. He emphasized that soil, with its ecosystem of microbes, water, and minerals, must be preserved to support natural flora, ensure predictable climate, and provide ample water for all
