Joint Venture Invites Bids to Enhance Sustainability Initiatives
Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMSL) has initiated the process of selecting a consultant to assist in the development of its environment, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. RUMSL, a collaborative venture between the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam, is focused on the establishment of solar parks within the state.
Interested parties have until October 23, 2023, to submit their bids, with the bid opening scheduled for the following day. Funding for this project will be provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
The core objectives of the consulting services are as follows:
- Facilitating RUMSL in aligning with global sustainability standards and best practices.
- Strengthening RUMSL’s capabilities in addressing the impacts of climate change and contributing to emission reduction efforts.
- Offering strategic recommendations for sustainable project development, resource optimization, and effective stakeholder engagement.
- Assisting RUMSL in reporting and communicating its sustainability achievements to various stakeholders.
The contract will become effective upon RUMSL’s official notice to the chosen consultant to commence the services.
Bidders interested in this project should meet certain criteria:
- Demonstrate experience in providing climate-related financial disclosure task forces and advisory services for an organization within the last three years (minimum of two instances).
- Present evidence of preparing at least three detailed carbon footprint assessment reports for a reputable organization in the past three years.
- Have experience in offering support for ESG policy formulation for at least two organizations within the last three years.
- Maintain a minimum average annual turnover of ₹500 million over the last three financial years.
Furthermore, the selected consultant is expected to execute the services with diligence, efficiency, and in accordance with accepted professional standards and practices. They should also employ sound management practices and appropriate technology, equipment, materials, and methods.
It is important to note that the consultant will bear all costs related to the preparation and submission of their proposal, and RUMSL will not be held responsible for these costs, regardless of the outcome of the selection process.
