Third edition of prestigious conference focuses on responsible water management and circular economy
The third edition of the prestigious Roorkee Water Conclave concluded successfully on March 6th, bringing together over 50 international experts to address critical water-related issues. Themed “Responsible Water Management and Circular Economy,” the event facilitated discussions on water governance, sustainable practices, and ecosystem restoration.
Jointly organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and the National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) Roorkee, the conclave served as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration. With participation from 15 countries and 30 keynote speakers, the event underscored its commitment to inclusivity and innovation.
The conclave emphasized the importance of sustainable water management practices. Shri Brijendra Swaroop, Director-General of the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG), highlighted the event’s role in fostering dialogue and collaboration, stating, “The Roorkee Water Conclave 2024 has been instrumental in catalyzing meaningful discourse and partnerships essential for advancing sustainable water management practices.”
Continued Impact
The conclave’s outcomes will extend beyond the event itself. Forthcoming publications, including a book with 11 chapters and two special journal issues, are expected to contribute significantly to water research and innovation. The 4th edition of the Roorkee Water Conclave is already scheduled for February 25-27, 2026, solidifying its position as a global leader in water discourse and action.
