Ahead of World Environment Day, Blue Dart announces the integration of over 480 electric vehicles, aiming to reduce CO2 emissions and achieve net-zero carbon goals.
In a strategic move to enhance sustainability and minimize its carbon footprint, Blue Dart, South Asia’s premier courier and integrated express package distribution company, has announced a significant expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) fleet. The fleet now includes over 480 electric vehicles, encompassing two, three, and four-wheelers. This initiative, unveiled on World Environment Day, underscores Blue Dart’s dedication to environmental stewardship and aligns with its ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
The incorporation of EVs into Blue Dart’s operations is anticipated to produce notable environmental benefits, with an estimated reduction of 15.05 tonnes of CO2 emissions per month. As a signatory to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change’s ‘Climate Neutral Now’ pledge, Blue Dart reaffirms its commitment to global climate action. The company’s Sustainability Roadmap includes initiatives such as the annual planting of over 111,000 trees, which is projected to offset more than 13,320 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually once the trees reach maturity.
