NueGo launches Kashmir to Kanyakumari electric bus expedition

Electric vehicle or ‘E’ is the buzz word in today’s world. It’s the call of the hour especially in present day today, when air-pollution has become the biggest menace with posing a challenge for environmentalists how to curb the carbon emission resulting into large number of bronchial asthma and other berating related ailments.

The electric busses has not only reduced the pollution completely but have also made travelling hassle-free and comfortable. Today, fleets of electric busses have over shadowed the c conventional diesel busses adding a new experience in bus travel especially when it comes to long distance interstate travelling.

The name of NueGo needs no introduction in air-conditioned electric bus sector. Adding yet another feather in the cap of the Nuego, it flagged off Kashmir to Kanyakumari (E-K2K) electric bus expedition at the NueGo depot hub in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The event was attended by Subhendu J Sinha, Advisor, NITI Aayog, Government of India, Dr Sanjeev K Lohia, Sr Advisor, The World Bank, Abhijeet Sinha, Project Director (NHEV), Amit Bhatt, MD, ICCT India and Devendra Chawla MD & CEO, Green Cell Mobility. These state-of-the-art busses would cover travel over 4000 kilometers across more than 200 towns and cities on the Kashmir to Kanyakumari route.

“The NueGo ambitious E-K2K journey will travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, demonstrating the resilience of electric busses across diverse terrains of India”, said Devendra Chawla MD & CEO, Green Cell Mobility.

“We have named the travel experience as E-K2K electric bus expedition simply because it’s not like regular travelling but the bus would stop at various places and would engage in activities like – student’s workshops, tree plantation, clean-up initiatives apart from enjoying cultural events and nukkad nataks (street plays),” said Devendra Chawla who maintained that the bus would complete the tour in the scheduled time of two-weeks.

“The bus truly embodies the spirit of “the E-bus that does good” while focusing India’s commitment to innovation and green technology,” added Chawla.

This would help to ease the pressure on the driver often resulting into highway accidents,” informed Devendra Chawla.
