In a significant move to tackle the growing climate crisis through integrated and inclusive solutions, Deloitte India has announced a strategic collaboration with the Rainmatter Foundation.
The partnership aims to foster a dynamic ecosystem that unites stakeholders across sectors to accelerate climate action using scalable, systems-driven approaches.
The alliance is built on the urgent need to overcome fragmented climate efforts and rising ecological and economic risks, with a strong emphasis on systems thinking.
Moving beyond a narrow focus on carbon reduction, the initiative expands into biodiversity preservation, circular economy practices, ecological restoration, and community resilience.
“At this critical juncture for our planet, businesses must embrace a deeper, more purposeful role in shaping a sustainable future,” said Viral Thakker, Partner and Sustainability & Climate Leader at Deloitte South Asia. “This collaboration with Rainmatter Foundation merges strategic insight with ecological wisdom, aiming to co-create pathways that honour community voices and embed sustainability into core economic decision-making.”
By combining Deloitte’s technological expertise, industry networks, and strategic vision with Rainmatter’s ecosystem-led, place-based approach, the initiative seeks to design and implement inclusive climate solutions. These will span across key sectors including energy, food, materials, mobility, and construction, leveraging technology, data, and community engagement.
Sameer Shisodia, CEO of Rainmatter Foundation, highlighted the significance of the partnership: “Addressing climate change requires us to break silos and reimagine how we engage with our environment, economy, and each other. This collaboration creates a valuable space for nonprofits, innovators, and industry leaders to co-develop solutions with shared intent and mutual respect.”
The collaboration also aims to influence climate policy and industry standards through thought leadership, data-driven insights, and strategic communication. Joint activities will include curated learning programs, knowledge exchange platforms, and capacity-building initiatives to cultivate a culture of shared responsibility and sustainable innovation.
