Bartronics India Signs MoU with RenewCred to Empower Farmers Through Carbon Credit Markets

Bartronics India Limited has announced the signing of a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Net Zero Initiative Private Limited (RenewCred), a climate-tech startup focused on blockchain-enabled carbon credit registries. The collaboration marks Bartronics’ strategic entry into the climate-tech and agri-tech sectors under its new management.

With operations across 5,000 villages and access to more than 40 million farmers and rural residents, Bartronics aims to leverage its vast rural network to enable farmers to participate in global carbon markets. By adopting sustainable agricultural practices, farmers will not only improve soil health but also generate verified carbon credits that can be monetized, creating an additional source of income and strengthening India’s rural economy.

“This MoU is about putting farmers at the center of the climate economy. For years, we have worked towards strengthening financial inclusion in rural India, and now we see an opportunity to enable farmers to benefit from the carbon credit ecosystem,” said N. Vidhya Sagar Reddy, Managing Director of Bartronics India Limited. “By partnering with RenewCred, we are opening up global markets for rural communities and helping them build resilient livelihoods.”

RenewCred, supported by a team of over 90 scientists, is already collaborating with departments under the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh. The startup will provide advanced digital MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) systems, drone-based monitoring, and blockchain-powered verification to ensure transparency and credibility in the carbon credit program.

“At RenewCred, our mission has always been to make carbon markets accessible, scientifically credible, and transparent,” said Abhimanyu Rathi, Founder & CEO of RenewCred. “This collaboration with Bartronics allows us to extend our mission to India’s vast farming communities and create a trustworthy pathway for them to monetize and benefit from carbon credits. It’s not just about technology—it’s about empowering rural communities with sustainable income opportunities.”

Globally, carbon markets are projected to become a multi-billion-dollar industry by 2030, driven by increasing demand for sustainable and traceable solutions. Bartronics’ move into the climate-tech space positions the company at the heart of this rapidly expanding market, with opportunities extending beyond India into international domains. The company has signaled that this MoU is just the first step, with more initiatives expected as it deepens its presence in the ecosystem.
