GREW Solar Secures ₹2,028 Crore NTPC REL Order to Supply 1.46 GW Solar PV Modules in Uttar Pradesh

The deal marks one of the largest module supply partnerships under NTPC Renewable Energy’s current programme, reinforcing India’s push toward clean energy and self-reliant manufacturing.

India’s clean energy transition continues to gain momentum as GREW Solar, one of the country’s fastest-growing solar PV manufacturers, has secured a major contract from NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) for the supply of high-efficiency solar PV modules aggregating to approximately 1,464.5 MW. The modules will be deployed across multiple project sites in Uttar Pradesh, with the cumulative contract value estimated at ₹2,028.33 crore.

The development aligns with India’s long-term energy and climate goals, including expanding non-fossil fuel electricity capacity to 500 GW by 2030, strengthening energy independence by 2047, and achieving net-zero emissions by 2070. The order is among the largest module supply partnerships currently undertaken by NTPC REL as part of its renewable energy expansion programme.

Under the agreement, GREW Solar will supply advanced, high-efficiency solar PV modules manufactured using cutting-edge technology and backed by stringent quality standards. The project is expected to play a critical role in supporting NTPC REL’s renewable portfolio while accelerating India’s broader clean energy and decarbonisation efforts.

Commenting on the partnership, Vinay Thadani, CEO and Director of GREW Solar, said the collaboration reflects strong confidence in the company’s technology and manufacturing capabilities. “Partnering with NTPC Renewable Energy Limited on one of India’s most significant solar initiatives reflects both the trust in our technology and the shared commitment to a sustainable future. At GREW Solar, each project is more than a supply order—it is a responsibility to power progress with integrity, precision, and purpose,” he said.

Thadani added that with the national push toward self-reliant manufacturing and innovation-led solar solutions, the company remains committed to advancing the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and strengthening India’s renewable ecosystem.

The NTPC REL order comes at a pivotal time for GREW Solar as it continues to expand its manufacturing footprint to meet rising domestic demand for high-performance solar modules. The company has been scaling capacity in response to increased government and utility-led renewable deployments, positioning itself as a key contributor to India’s growing solar manufacturing ecosystem.

As India accelerates investments in renewable infrastructure, large-scale partnerships between public sector energy developers and domestic manufacturers are expected to play a crucial role in reducing import dependence, creating jobs, and ensuring long-term energy security.
