Enphase Energy Starts Shipping IQ 7X Microinverters for 96-Cell PV Modules

Enphase Energy has announced that it started shipping Enphase IQ 7X microinverters to solar distributors in the U.S. The Enphase IQ 7X Micro is the highest power and highest efficiency variant of the seventh-generation IQ family of microinverters.

The IQ 7X offers 97.5% CEC efficiency and supports 96-cell PV modules up to 400 W, with peak AC output power of 320 W and a Maximum Power Point (MPP) tracking range of 53-64 V.

It leverages Enphase’s 55nm custom ASIC for higher reliability and better economies of scale. IQ 7X integrates seamlessly into the Enphase Home Energy Solution with IQ and allows energy monitoring and insights from the Enphase Enlighten software platform’s easy-to-use interface.

Solar installers will benefit from the same fast and easy installation with the existing suite of IQ products: the lighter two-wire Enphase Q Cable, and the Enphase IQ Combiner+ with pre-installed Enphase IQ Envoy.

Putting IQ 7X into the hands of our distribution and installer partners is another key milestone in Enphase’s charge towards profitable top line growth,” said David Ranhoff, chief commercial officer at Enphase Energy. “The IQ 7X will help deliver on our vision of innovation, high quality and expansion into high-volume solar markets around the world, as well as reaching our 30/20/10 target operating model.”

Enphase installers in the U.S. are excited about offering the IQ 7X to their customers:

The arrival of the Enphase IQ 7X Micros at our warehouses and on customer roofs completes a strategic element of our portfolio of Enphase products,” said Brandon Rickett, solar manager of IES Texas Solar. “Our customers benefit from the combination of high-efficiency, 96-cell modules from companies like Panasonic with IQ 7X microinverters, and our bottom line benefits from the ease of installation and monitoring capabilities which led us to choose the Enphase platform in the first place.”

Amergy takes great pride in giving our customers the best options for their homes,” said Heather Keim, vice president of operations of Amergy Solar. “For us, this means using high-quality products like Enphase inverters and high-efficiency modules. We have been looking forward to the release of the IQ 7X, which allows us to replace the string inverters we have had to use in the past.”

One of the biggest challenges in solar technology is finding innovative products that will enhance the consumer experience,” said Arno Aghamalian, chief executive officer of Solar Optimum. “We value forward-thinking manufacturers like Enphase at Solar Optimum. The technological enhancement of the IQ 7X augments the performance of the Panasonic solar modules, and we are excited to be one of the first to offer this technology to the residential solar market.”

The Enphase IQ 7X Micro is also ideal for integration into AC Modules (ACMs). In February 2018, Enphase announced the co-development of high efficiency ACMs with Panasonic’s N Series HIT (N325/N330) PV Modules.
