Siemens Limited and Switch Mobility signs Memorandum of Understanding to provide E-Mobility solutions in India

Siemens Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Switch Mobility Automotive Limited to jointly address need of electric commercial vehicle customers and execute E-Mobility Projects in India. The MOU is aimed at delivering efficient, cost-effective and sustainable E-Mobility solutions to various commercial vehicle customers in India. 

Ganfeng eyes solid-state battery market with lithium metal project

China based lithium producers Ganfeng Lithium has announced that it would build a plant in its home province of Jiangxi to produce 7,000 tonnes per year of lithium metal for the burgeoning solid-state battery sector. Solid-state batteries use solid electrolytes rather than flammable liquid ones, making them safer than the lithium-ion batteries now commonly used in electric vehicles, and have a higher energy density.

Hero Electric To Invest ₹ 700 Crore To Increase Production Capacity

Hero Electric is optimistic about the growing demand for electric two-wheelers, and it expects to meet the exponential growth in demand by increasing production capacity, the Managing Director of Hero Electric -Naveen Munjal in an interview to Times Of India said. Over the next 3-4 years the electric vehicle manufacturer is planning to invest INR 700 crore to increase its production capacity from the current 75,000 units to 10 lakh units.

Tesla slams German bureaucracy, offers reform proposals

Electric carmaker Tesla said that it was irritated by administrative delays to the construction of its new gigafactory outside Berlin, and put forward its own reform proposals. Tesla has experienced firsthand how obstacles in German authorisation procedures slow down industrial transformation, the company wrote in a letter to Berlin’s highest administrative court seen by AFP. If these obstacles are not dealt with quickly, there is a high risk that Germany will miss its climate targets, the company added.

Aventose Energy, startup with vision to exponentially increase electric two-wheeler adoption

Chennai based start-up Aventose Energy plans to address the key issues faced by consumers through its products. Their vision is to exponentially increase the adoption of electric mobility and has an ambitious target of capturing five per cent of the overall Indian two-wheeler market by 2026. Aventose E2Ws are rugged, multi-utility, multiage and unisex vehicles, suitable for customers from urban and rural markets.

Tesla scouts for showroom space in India, hires executive for lobbying says a report

News Agency Reuters citing sources reports that Tesla Inc is scouting for locations to open showrooms in three Indian cities and has hired an executive to lead its lobbying and business efforts ahead of its planned entry into the Indian market.  In January this year Tesla registered a local company in the country, where it is expected to import and sell the Model 3 sedan by as early as mid-2021, seeking to target rich customers in a niche market.

Global EV battery swapping market to reach USD 409.99million by 2027

Allied Market Research in its new report said that the rise in electric vehicle demand, scarcity of public charging facilities, and the less time required for electric vehicle charging will drive the growth of the global electric vehicle battery swapping market. It revealed that the global electric vehicle battery swapping industry generated USD 118.44 million in 2019, and is projected to reach USD 409.99 million by 2027, growing at a CAGR of 22.3% from 2020 to 2027.

Huawei files two patents related to electric vehicles says a report

Huawei is planning to make electric cars under its own brand, and now a new report has claimed that the company has filed a couple of patents relating to the same. Two patents filed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. titled “An Electric Drive System, Powertrain, and Electric Vehicle”. The patents were both filed on October 21, 2020.

Ashok Leyland to carve out two new units to strengthen green transport solutions

Ashok Leyland recentlyy said it has decided to form two new subsidiaries as part of its plans to strengthen green transport solutions. The company through its subsidiary Switch Mobility Ltd, the UK-based electric vehicle producer of buses and vans, is creating two units, Ashok Leyland said in a statement. The first unit Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd is being formed to carry on the electric vehicle strategy in India and forms part of its global entity.  The second subsidiary OHM Global Mobility Pvt Ltd  will focus on providing mobility as a service offering, it said.
