Juniper Green Energy Crosses 1.2 GW Renewable Energy Capacity with Recent PPAs and LOAs

Renewable Power Producer Secures Wind and Solar Projects through Competitive Bidding, Aims for 1.4 Billion kWh Clean Energy Annually

Juniper Green Energy, one of the leading independent renewable energy power producer and operator, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 1.2 GW of renewable energy capacity. This remarkable feat was accomplished through recent Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Letters of Award (LOAs) secured over the past few months.

The company was awarded 190 MW of Wind capacity from GUVNL and 105 MW of Solar capacity from MSEDCL at a commendable average tariff of Rs. 3.00 (~$0.037) per kWh. These projects were acquired through a competitive bidding process, followed by an e-Reverse auction conducted by GUVNL and MSEDCL. Under the terms of the bid, the Power Purchase Agreements are set to be signed for 25 years, with the projects expected to be operational within 18-24 months.

In addition to these achievements, Juniper Green Energy has commenced construction on its first Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) solar power project with a capacity of 140 MW, utilizing the merchant/C&I route. Together, these projects will generate an impressive 1.4 billion kWh of clean energy annually, leading to a reduction of approximately 1.3 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions every year. Furthermore, they have the potential to provide green energy to power around 2.8 Lacs households.

Naresh Mansukhani, CEO of Juniper Green Energy, expressed his enthusiasm for this significant development, emphasizing the company’s dedication to supporting the Government of India’s vision of achieving a sustainable India with net-zero emissions and promoting environmental sustainability. The company remains steadfast in its commitment to help India become a global leader in solar energy and contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable planet, actively supporting the growth of India’s renewable energy sector.
