Ergon Labs and Omega Seiki Forge Strategic Partnership to Revolutionize Electric Three-Wheelers

Omega Seiki places ₹50 crore order for Ergon’s Integrated Power Converter technology, signaling a major leap in electric mobility performance and cost-efficiency.

Ergon Labs, a rising force in light electric vehicle (EV) powertrain innovation, has announced a landmark partnership with Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd. (OSPL), one of India’s fastest-growing EV manufacturers. Under this collaboration, Omega Seiki will become the first OEM to integrate Ergon’s state-of-the-art Integrated Power Converter (IPC) into its electric three-wheeler lineup, starting with the L5 segment. Strengthening this partnership further, OSPL has placed a substantial ₹50 crore order for Ergon’s IPC technology to power its next-generation electric models.

Innovative Technology Redefining Performance

Ergon Labs’ IPC is a breakthrough solution that combines the on-board charger and motor controller into a single compact unit, delivering enhanced performance, greater reliability, and improved charging efficiency. Key benefits of the IPC include:

  • 30% gradeability (17 degrees) with extended peak torque operation for up to 5 minutes, compared to the industry standard of 1 minute.
  • 50% faster charging speeds, enabling over 50 km range addition in less than an hour with a standard 15A socket.
  • 30% reduction in system cost versus traditional setups with separate components.
  • Simplified wiring harness, boosting overall vehicle efficiency and reliability.

With over 50,000 kilometers of rigorous on-road testing and pre-compliance certifications completed, full certification for the IPC is expected within the coming month.

Strategic Rollout and Market Outlook

The first phase will see 2,000 IPC units deployed across India during FY26, targeting the booming L5 Passenger vehicle segment — a market rapidly expanding with demand from aggregators like Rapido, Ola, and Uber. Omega Seiki’s substantial ₹50 crore commitment underscores market confidence in the transformative potential of Ergon’s integrated powertrain solution.

Additionally, both companies are collaborating to develop a high-performance L5 Cargo variant capable of carrying over 500 kg payload with unmatched 30% gradeability, aimed at replacing diesel vehicles, particularly in regions like Kerala and the North East.

Shared Vision for Sustainable Mobility

Commenting on the partnership, Ashwin Ramanujam, CEO of Ergon Labs, stated, “Collaborating with Omega Seiki marks a major milestone in our journey to revolutionize light EV powertrains. Through deep hardware and software integration, we’re delivering significant enhancements in vehicle performance, reliability, and user convenience. This partnership is the result of three years of focused innovation and sets the foundation for our next breakthrough — one-hour home charging for two-wheelers by 2026.”

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Pvt. Ltd., who has also made a strategic investment in Ergon Labs and will join its advisory board, said, “After decades of global investment experience, my goal with Omega Seiki has been to drive impactful change through engineering-led innovation. Partnering with Ergon reflects that commitment. Their cutting-edge technology promises to reshape India’s EV landscape, and I’m proud to support and accelerate their vision.”
