The electric mobility firm takes a major step toward social security and formal recognition for its 2700+ gig workers across India through structured e-Shram registration.
Magenta Mobility is stepping up its commitment to employee welfare with a new initiative aimed at registering its Delivery Executives (DEs) on the e-Shram portal. Here are five key things to know about this move and what it means for the gig workforce.
1. Magenta Mobility Champions Gig Worker Welfare
Magenta Mobility, a key player in electric mobility solutions, has launched a dedicated drive to onboard its Delivery Executives onto the government’s e-Shram portal. This initiative strengthens the company’s focus on creating a safe and secure environment for gig workers.
2. What is the e-Shram Portal?
Developed by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, e-Shram is a centralized database designed for workers in the unorganised sector—including gig workers and daily wage earners. Registered individuals become eligible for various government welfare schemes, providing much-needed financial and social support.
3. Formal Recognition for Delivery Executives
By enrolling in e-Shram, Magenta’s DEs receive formal recognition within the gig economy, similar to how Aadhaar provides personal identification. This step offers access to social protection programs such as health insurance, life cover, and other benefits critical to their well-being.
4. A Structured Approach to Seamless Onboarding
Magenta Mobility has implemented a streamlined process to ensure maximum participation among its workforce. The company’s structured onboarding efforts are designed to make the enrollment easy, fast, and accessible for all Delivery Executives.
5. Aligning with National Goals for the Gig Economy
With a team of over 2,700 DEs across India, this initiative reflects Magenta Mobility’s long-term vision of inclusive growth. “Our Delivery Executives deserve the same access to welfare as any formal workforce,” said Maxson Lewis, Managing Director and CEO of Magenta Mobility, reaffirming the company’s commitment to national efforts in strengthening the gig workforce.
