The expansion will strengthen Modi Biotech’s position in the biofuel industry, aligning with India’s push for cleaner energy solutions and sustainable growth.
Modi Biotech Private Limited (MBPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Modi Naturals Limited, is set to bolster its growth with a significant production capacity expansion. The company is investing in advanced infrastructure and cutting-edge technology to add 180 KLD to its existing capacity of 130 KLD. Upon completion, MBPL’s total production capacity will reach 310 KLD, positioning it to better meet the surging demand for biofuels. This ambitious expansion project involves a capital expenditure of Rs. 100 crores and is expected to be completed within 8 to 10 months.
MBPL’s current 130 KLD grain-based ethanol distillery, coupled with a 5 MW captive power plant located in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has already cemented the company’s footprint in the biofuel sector. The expansion comes on the back of a significant Rs. 300 crore order for 41,600 KL of ethanol from multiple Oil Manufacturing Companies (OMCs), further underscoring MBPL’s strong market presence.
Akshay Modi, Managing Director of Modi Naturals Ltd., emphasized the company’s focus on innovation and sustainability: “We are committed to driving growth in the biofuel sector. This expansion marks a significant step towards achieving our goals. The new order validates our capabilities and dedication to delivering high-quality ethanol. By expanding our capacity, we aim to support India’s vision of reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting sustainable energy solutions.”
This strategic development aligns with the government’s ethanol-blended petrol program and its broader push for cleaner, renewable energy alternatives. With this expansion, Modi Biotech is poised to contribute significantly to reducing carbon emissions and ensuring energy security, while simultaneously strengthening its position as a key player in India’s biofuel industry.
The initiative reflects Modi Biotech’s commitment to sustainable growth, innovation, and supporting national objectives for a greener, energy-efficient future.
