Transforming E-Waste: Anamorphic Sculpture Redefines Sustainability Through Art

A striking sculpture made from discarded headlights, air conditioning units, and chipboards highlights the potential of recycling and innovation in sustainable design

A groundbreaking anamorphic sculpture is redefining sustainability by turning discarded materials into a powerful artistic statement. Crafted from repurposed headlights, air conditioning units, chipboards, and other industrial waste, this unique installation showcases the fusion of creativity and environmental consciousness.

Created by artists Rohini Maiti and Surya Punjabi in collaboration with Tata Motors’ Re.Wi.Re Recycling Facility, the sculpture—titled Behind A Silver Lining—explores the intersection of art, science, and technology. By transforming e-waste into thought-provoking design, the installation challenges the way we perceive industrial waste, encouraging a shift toward responsible recycling and innovation.

More than just a visual masterpiece, the artwork sparks meaningful conversations on sustainability and the future of eco-friendly design. Inspired by the Kala Ghoda tradition of horse-themed sculptures, it also pays tribute to the evolution of transportation and the role of artistic expression in shaping a greener world.
