The agreement marks the third strategic collaboration between Tata Power Renewable Energy and Suzlon, strengthening India’s renewable push with projects across multiple states.
Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power and one of India’s leading green energy companies, has signed a major agreement with Suzlon Group for the supply of wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a cumulative capacity of 838 MW. The turbines will be deployed across multiple renewable projects over the next few years, strengthening India’s push toward its 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.
The collaboration further solidifies TPREL’s position as a frontrunner in India’s energy transition by scaling up wind-led clean energy projects that are reliable, dispatchable, and cost-efficient. Currently, TPREL’s wind energy portfolio stands at more than 3.9 GW, of which over 1 GW is operational. The remaining capacity is under various stages of development across states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
As part of the agreement, Suzlon will provide end-to-end solutions, leveraging its extensive experience in wind energy technology and project execution. This marks the third strategic partnership between TPREL and Suzlon, underscoring a decade-long relationship between the two renewable energy majors.
The initiative aligns with Tata Power’s long-term vision of achieving 100% clean energy by 2045. The company’s total renewable portfolio currently stands at 15.7 GW, of which 6.9 GW comes from clean energy sources.
By advancing large-scale wind power projects, Tata Power Renewable Energy and Suzlon are not only accelerating India’s green transition but also contributing significantly to the nation’s energy security and sustainability goals.
