New solar power projects across three manufacturing facilities are expected to cut nearly 4,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year
Surya Roshni Limited has invested approximately ₹16 crore in setting up 4 MWp of captive solar power capacity across its manufacturing facilities in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Haryana, strengthening its renewable energy portfolio and advancing sustainable manufacturing in India.
The company has commissioned 1.5 MWp solar power plants each at its Kashipur (Uttarakhand) and Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh) facilities, along with a 1 MWp installation at its Bahadurgarh (Haryana) plant. The captive solar systems use a mix of rooftop and ground-mounted structures to maximise energy generation and operational efficiency.
According to the company, the three solar installations are expected to generate nearly 48 lakh units of clean electricity every year. The Kashipur and Malanpur plants are projected to produce around 18 lakh units annually each, while the Bahadurgarh facility is expected to generate approximately 12 lakh units.
The renewable energy initiative is also expected to reduce the company’s carbon emissions by around 3,936 tonnes of CO₂ annually, supporting cleaner industrial operations while lowering dependence on conventional power sources.
Commenting on the development, Padma Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal, Chairman of Surya Roshni, said sustainability remains central to the company’s long-term growth strategy. He noted that expanding renewable energy adoption across manufacturing facilities reflects the company’s commitment to responsible manufacturing, reducing its carbon footprint, and building a greener future.
The investment comes as Indian manufacturers increasingly adopt captive renewable energy projects to improve energy security, reduce operating costs, and align with national decarbonisation goals. By integrating solar power into its production facilities, Surya Roshni joins a growing number of industrial companies investing in clean energy to make manufacturing more sustainable.
