Kazam Partners with Yuma Energy to Launch Battery Swapping at Park and Charge Hubs Nationwide

The collaboration aims to accelerate EV adoption by offering fast, efficient battery-swapping solutions for commercial drivers across India, starting with Mahadevapura, Bangalore.

In a significant move to boost electric mobility in India, Kazam, homegrown EV charging solutions provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Yuma Energy, a joint venture between Magna International and Yulu Bikes.

This collaboration is set to revolutionize the EV ecosystem by integrating Yuma’s battery-swapping technology into Kazam’s Park & Charge (P&C) hubs across India.

The nationwide rollout began with the launch of the first integrated facility at Mahadevapura Park & Charge Hub in Bangalore. This development will enable commercial EV drivers, particularly those in the last-mile delivery and e-commerce sectors, to swap depleted batteries with fully charged ones in under a minute—dramatically reducing downtime and enhancing operational efficiency.

Currently, Kazam operates 60 Park & Charge hubs in 10 states, powering over 3,000 EVs daily. Additionally, Kazam manages another 200 hubs in partnership with major players like Zypp and BigBasket across 81 Indian cities. These hubs serve as essential infrastructure for two- and three-wheeler EV drivers, offering not only charging facilities but also amenities like rest zones and refreshment stations.

Launched in 2023, the Park & Charge model was designed to offer safe, dedicated charging spaces for commercial EV drivers. To date, Kazam has delivered over 1 GWh of clean energy, enabling 22 million+ green kilometers and significantly reducing carbon emissions in the logistics sector.

Yuma Energy, one of India’s largest Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) providers, has facilitated over 20 million battery swaps, powering more than 800 million green kilometers. With a 99% uptime and an average swap time of under 60 seconds, Yuma’s tech-driven approach ensures maximum reliability and efficiency.

“This partnership builds on the synergies between the two companies to develop a strong ecosystem for the E-mobility industry,” said Deepak Nanwani, Head of Revenue & Operations at Yuma Energy.
Muthu Subramanian, GM & MD of Yuma Energy, added, “Partnering with Kazam allows us to expedite the establishment of new Yuma stations, effectively catering to the rapidly growing user base.”

“We’re thrilled to join hands with Yuma,” said Paras Shah, COO and Co-founder of Kazam. “This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission of decarbonizing last-mile deliveries. Integrating Yuma’s battery-swapping modules makes it easier than ever for fleet operators to go green.”

This collaboration underscores the growing momentum within India’s EV sector, as leading companies work together to build scalable, sustainable solutions. With fast, flexible charging and swapping infrastructure now expanding nationwide, Kazam and Yuma are setting the stage for a cleaner, more efficient future in urban mobility.
