SolarSquare Hits 250 MW Milestone, Accelerates India’s Rooftop Solar Revolution

Residential solar company reaches new heights, aims to power millions more homes and businesses across India with clean energy.

SolarSquare has announced a major achievement, crossing 250 MW of installed solar capacity.

This significant milestone underscores the company’s decade-long commitment to transforming India’s energy landscape, one rooftop at a time.

Since its inception in 2015, SolarSquare has emerged as India’s one of the top residential rooftop solar company, boasting a robust presence across 20 cities. The company’s future looks even brighter, with plans to expand to 50 cities by 2030, tapping into new and emerging markets.

The 250 MW capacity is a testament to SolarSquare’s diversified portfolio. A remarkable 100 MW comes from residential projects, illuminating over 25,000 homes and 240 housing societies.

The remaining 150 MW is a result of successful commercial and industrial collaborations, where SolarSquare has provided solar solutions to prominent brands like Swiggy, D’Decor, and Force Motors.

SolarSquare’s success is rooted in its innovative full-stack model, which streamlines the entire process for customers. By handling everything from design and installation to government permits, financing, and long-term maintenance, the company eliminates the need for middlemen, making the switch to clean energy both seamless and affordable.

”It’s been 10 years of building SolarSquare, and we are humbled to have become the #1 residential solar brand of India today,” said Shreya Mishra, CEO & Co-founder of SolarSquare. “While 20 lakh homes in India have adopted solar so far, there are crores of homes still waiting to join the solar revolution. We are the first company in India to offer rooftop solar with a promise of guaranteed savings, taking 100% responsibility for the performance of the system. This makes the switch truly hassle-free for Indian families.”

SolarSquare’s growth aligns with India’s ambitious push for widespread rooftop solar adoption. While the nation aims for a 40 GW rooftop solar target by 2026, only 11 GW has been achieved.

SolarSquare is actively contributing to closing this gap, especially with the government’s recent launch of the ₹75,000 crore PM-Surya Ghar scheme, which aims to solarize 1 crore households.
