Five things to know about Zenergize’s new three-phase grid-tied inverter, its SiC technology, efficiency claims and target market
India’s rooftop solar market is increasingly moving beyond conventional household installations, creating demand for higher-capacity systems for larger homes, institutions and small businesses. Against this backdrop, Indian power-electronics company Zenergize has launched a new 15 kW three-phase grid-tied solar inverter, expanding its solar product portfolio into higher-capacity applications.
The inverter was unveiled at Infineon Technologies’ annual OktoberTech event in Bengaluru, where Zenergize was also announced as an Infineon partner.
Here are five things to know about the new solar inverter and what the launch means for Zenergize’s expanding power-electronics portfolio.
1. Zenergize is moving beyond its 3 kW and 5 kW inverters
The new 15 kW inverter builds on Zenergize’s existing 3 kW and 5 kW SiC-based solar inverter portfolio, including deployments under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
With the higher-capacity product, the company is targeting solar installations with greater electricity requirements, including larger homes, villas, institutions and small commercial establishments.
The move reflects the company’s effort to expand beyond the conventional residential rooftop segment into applications requiring higher solar generation capacity.
2. The inverter can support up to 20 kWp of solar PV input
According to Zenergize, its new three-phase grid-tied inverter supports a maximum PV power input of 20 kWp.
It comes with three Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) trackers, giving system designers greater flexibility in configuring solar panels, particularly where rooftop layouts involve different orientations or varying sunlight conditions.
For larger rooftop installations, this flexibility can help accommodate more complex solar array configurations.
3. Zenergize claims up to 98.5% maximum efficiency
Efficiency is a key consideration in solar inverters because the device converts the electricity generated by solar panels into usable AC power for the grid or connected loads.
Zenergize says the 15 kW inverter delivers up to 98.5% maximum efficiency and 98.2% conversion efficiency.
The inverter is also designed for India’s challenging operating environment, with a stated operating temperature range of -25°C to 55°C.
It carries IP65 protection and incorporates electrical and grid-safety features, according to the company.
4. Silicon Carbide technology remains central to Zenergize’s strategy
The launch also highlights Zenergize’s growing technology partnership with Infineon Technologies, with the company being announced as an Infineon partner at the Bengaluru event.
Zenergize’s second-generation inverter platform uses Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology. The company says SiC helps reduce power losses, improve thermal performance and enhance efficiency under demanding operating conditions.
For India, where rooftop solar equipment can face high ambient temperatures and variable grid conditions, thermal performance and conversion efficiency are particularly relevant to long-term system operation.
5. The company is targeting India’s expanding clean-energy market
Zenergize Co-founder and CEO Navneet Daga said the growth of rooftop solar is creating opportunities beyond conventional residential installations.
“As rooftop solar adoption accelerates across India, the opportunity is rapidly expanding beyond conventional residential installations to larger homes, institutions and small businesses with higher energy requirements,” Daga said.
He added that these applications require higher capacity along with efficiency, reliability and consistent performance across India’s diverse grid and climatic conditions.
Daga said the company plans to use the manufacturing capabilities and experience gained from its existing inverter portfolio to address the larger-capacity segment.
Zenergize’s 15 kW inverter launch comes as India’s rooftop solar ecosystem expands to include a broader range of consumers and applications. The company’s strategy is to combine locally engineered and manufactured power-electronics products with SiC-based technology while expanding across solar energy and electric mobility.
The partnership with Infineon also adds a semiconductor-technology dimension to Zenergize’s expansion, bringing its application and system-level capabilities together with Infineon’s semiconductor expertise.
The bigger question now is whether higher-capacity, locally manufactured inverter solutions can scale quickly enough to support India’s rapidly growing distributed clean-energy infrastructure.
